  • First Day with Bolinas Students– Bo-Stin School
  • Intro Circle and Opening Ceremony
  • What is home? Introducing college kids to Bolinas through eyes of young stewards

  • Trust Walk
  • Visit goats with Melissa at PBUD Land
  • Pick up at Bo-Stin School

Oct. 3

  • Fire at Commonweal Garden
  • Winter bed prep- cover crop
  • Tracking – Medicinal Herb Walk
  • Intro to making fire by friction
  • Pick up at Commonweal Garden

Oct. 10

  • Visit to Shao Shan Farm
  • Pick Up at Shao Shen Farm

Oct. 17

  • Shelter making on RCA Beach and re-visit with fire making skills
  • Pick up at RCA Parking lot

  • Community Apple Harvest

 Fall Program: Learning the Land Program

  • August 31: Bo School Orientation-intros, garden, cob oven dinner
  • September 7: Sky Road Webb, lagoon- stories, song, necklaces
  • September 14: BPUD Land Stewards – plant ID, trail walk, discussion
  • September 21: BPUD Land Stewards – trail restoration, invasive pull
  • September 28: BPUD Land – Goats on with Melissa
  • October 5: BPUD Land – Row Cropping with Mickey
  • October 12: 50/50 Gleening – Neighborhood Apple Harvesting
  • October 19: HARVEST Skills – fun w/ cob oven
  • October 26: Mesa Park, show us your skills, art, poetry. 
  • November 2: Birding with Keith Hanson
  • November 9: Mesa Park – planting 
  • November 16: Commonweal Garden Primitive Skills with Tamara Wilder & Overnight Campout (rescheduled due to ca-fire smoke) 
  • December 7th: Closing of fall program,  Planting of an apple tree in the Bolinas Campus School Garden / program evaluations)


Winter / Spring 2019 Program – Tending the Hearth / Walk on the Wild Side

 Begins  –  February 1st 2019

  • Feb 1st: orientation/ natives with Ben / gardening with Meg and Ian / Cob oven pizza with Melinda   
  • Feb 8th: Willderness First Aid and Basic Survival skills with Meg and Ian 
  • Feb 15th: Shelter Making at RCA with a Meg and Ian 
  • Feb 22nd No Class / Bo-Stin winter break
  • March 1st: Freebox tending with StuArt and beach walk / Games 
  • March 8th: Animal tracking with Richard Vaca
  • March 15th: To be determined (pending confirmation) 
  • March 22nd: Return to Shelter on RCA Beach for more creation, fire demos and stories
  • March 29th: Plant foraging and weed eradication with BPUD
  • April 5th: Herbal Salve making Eden Clearbrook, plant starts for Art and Garden (pending confirmation) 
  • April 12th: Bo-Stin Spring Break / No Class
  • April 19th: Clay harvesting and foraging 
  • April 26th: Fire ceramics at Cob oven, make seed balls for Art and Garden, prep for Commonweal overnight.
  • May 3rd: Overnight at Commonweal, with skill sharing led by Tamara Wilder on May 4.
